Configuring xSeries Servers

Proper Technical documentation is essential when configuring the xSeries servers. Ensure that you have the appropriate technical manual for the specific box you are configuring. Review installation/de-installation information, and validate all component locations, prior to set-up. The technical manual also contains all of the error codes and corrective action that pertain to your specific machine.
Notes for removing an x440 Central Electronic Component (CEC):

Remove the cable guard from the back of the box, as well as the two screws that hold the lock on the right side of the cabinet.
Make sure to unlock the CEC when removing the card lock. This is done by swinging the two levers, at the same time, toward the center of the CEC. Then, slide the CEC all the way to the right side of the box, lifting it straight up and out. Failure to do so will cause you to break off one of the many capacitors that reside on the daughter board.
